1) Misleading -

This site told me quite a bit about how they have improved the world by reducing this and reducing that but it never did treat me as a customer.  What can they do for me?  It is very animated, I would say a cross between a “Matrix” film and a thrill ride at Disney.

http://www.realbusiness.com/#/ready-for-business

This page is misleading with it’s home page and information within.

2)  Sound

This is a site for those into massages.  The photos are very tasteful but the music is horrible.  There are little butterflies flittering around all over the page.  One of the photos of the massage table in the private rooms looks like a casket.  The music would be perfect for a funeral.  This was a very bad choice.

This site has music playing but there is no place for the visitor to turn it off.

3)  Site Name -

I’m still not real sure what this site is about and the name of the site does not help.  It is very hard to read with its multicolor and funky text.  There are places to visit all over the page and everything has its own color.  I just never could find rhyme or reason with this one.

http://www.sixtiespress.co.uk/

The name of the site is difficult to read because of the text and colors.

4)  Overwhelming Advertisement -

I have NEVER been so flustered in all my life.  This site is like a Dollar General sales paper gone haywire!  There are ads and coupons and million other things to grab attention but the main heading is LOST amongst all the other hideous colors and pictures.  I really had to do some hunting on this site.

http://www.pinesol.com/

This site is very busy and overloads the visitor from the beginning.

5)  HTML Errors -

I was confused when first viewing this site.  I thought it was some sort of patriotic site to celebrate our American troops but I later found out it is a site for audio/video equipment.  This site was very misleading.  I clicked on the “click here” and got nothing but another review of the same site revealed 186 html errors.  I would have my site proofed first.

http://www.supervideo.com/

This site has many html errors and needs to be proofed before uploading.

6)  Flash Overload

Very interesting site but the designers went a bit crazy with the Flash.  Text and pictures are “Flashing” across the page.  Appearing and disappearing in random sequences, this site’s information is very hard to focus on.

This page has nice Flash but too much to get the message across.

7)  Distracting Graphics -

Not realizing at first what the distraction was, I finally figured out that this site has little bubbles floating from the bottom of the site to the top.  Being a seafood site it seems like a good idea to use bubbles on the page but this is going “overboard”, no pun intended.  The bubbles made me nauseated from the movement.  I feel that the site is rather juvenile and true customers will move on.

http://www.richardsbrothersseafoods.com.au/

This page lacks excitement and the graphics are very distracting.

8) Organization Flaws -

I can see where this site would be very intriguing to a child, but not an adult.  The information here is for adults, or at least much older children.  The organization on this site is nonexistent.  There are places that guide here and there with no rhyme or reason and the sounds are agitating to say the least.  The average visitor will grow weary and visit elsewhere.

http://www.jkrowling.com/accessible/en/

This site lacks organization for the visitor and is more like a seek and find game.

9)  Optical Pandemonium

The colors are nice but there are so many things going on and no real organization.  I feel that if the activities were by date and not even the reader would be able to make sense of it all.  The way it is now makes it hard for a visitor, especially one that is not tech savvy, to find his/her way around.  I would reorganized and tone down the colors.

This page contains too many colors and should be organized to suit the viewer.

10)  Color

This site uses very bright red colors to grab the viewer’s attention.  One can truly say they “see” red.  The designer created this site to advertise youth football but guests are overloaded with the bright colors and move on quickly.  If this were my site I would change the background and limit the pops of color.

http://www.blackhillsyouthfootball.com/

This page is red, very, very red.
